Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Thousands will be joining together this Friday, June 19 to commemorate this symbolic day. Come and join in on the festivities. Here's a list of events happening across Los Angeles and virtually across the world.

JUNETEENTH MONUMENT WALK

8AM-12PM

Black Arts LA presents 4mile Juneteenth Monument Walk commemorating when the last slaves in Oklahoma were freed. The walk will begin at the African American Museum of Beginnings in Pomona and end at Juneteenth Monument (Ganesha Park).

LEIMERT PARK RISING

11AM-7PM

Pray For The Hood x Leimert Park Rising Juneteenth Festival

It took a village to bring it to the village. Celebrating black independence, in every way imaginable.

JUNETEENTH EXHALE LUNCH

Black Mental Health needs to be talked about and prioritized. Juneteenth Exhale Lunch will be a space for the black community to recharge.

This Juneteenth Exhale Lunch will be a safe space for the Black community and allies to reflect, recharge, reconnect, and realign on our goals for justice.

JUNETEENTH DANCE-A-BRATION!

Juneteenth is a time to honor our ancestors, reflect on our past and celebrate our future!

All dancers are invited out for two celebratory dance classes focusing on SOUTHERN SOUL & WEST AFRICAN TECHNIQUES! Classes are presented by Inspire Danz Co. here in Los Angeles.

Open to all dancers! Lets celebrate together!

  LIFT EVERY VOICE: A JUNETEENTH SPECIAL

8PM-9:30PM

LiveXLive Media, Inc. (NASDAQ: LIVX) and Live Nation Urban join forces with Color of Change for a 90-minute Special, Lift Every Voice: A Juneteenth Special featuring COMMON, TI, JUSTINE SKYE and many more. The event will commemorate African American freedom and celebrate the unifying language of music streamed across LiveXLive digital platforms.

NAACP JUNETEENTH BLACK FAMILY REUNION:
THE MUSIC, THE MOMENTS, THE MOVEMENT

Join us for a special Black Family Reunion event as we honor the lives we’ve lost this year, uplift our collective movement for civil rights, and remember the moments that make us proud to be Black.

On Juneteenth, NAACP and REVOLT TV partner to provide a safe space for Black families to convene in that same spirit. Leaders of the new civil rights movement, celebrities, and other public figures will come together for a Virtual Black Family Reunion and rally to form a united path forward.

JUNETEENTH 2020: STAY BLACK AND LIVE FESTIVAL

Juneteenth 2020: Stay Black and Live is a virtual Juneteenth festival. A collaboration with several Black organizations in Austin’s historic East side (G.E.A.Y.A.Six SquareCarverMuseumATXCarver Library, and Jump On It), this year’s Juneteenth celebration emphasizes not only the timeless themes of freedom and perseverance, but also recognizes the unprecedented times we’re currently living through.

Before our online program starts, the 10,000 Fearless First Responders will be distributing free plates to the communities most in need on the East side of Austin, TX.
